Shari Vari, nestled just around the corner from the Pantheon, is the self-proclaimed “salotto romano,” or roman living room. During the day, Shari Vari lives up to its title with its warm, inviting atmosphere. At night however, the space transforms from comfortable bistro, to one of Rome’s most popular night clubs.

Shari Vari is truly the chameleon of Rome’s centro storico; from 8.30 am until evening, the heart of the restaurant is open for breakfast, coffee, and aperitivo. The space is filled with warmth: rustic wooden tables, industrial metal, vintage radios and suitcases filled with flowers. But, at 11.30pm, the whole bistrot is cleared out, and transforms into the perfect place to dance all night long. The lights are dimmed, the bartenders change from friendly-faced baristas to night-club mixologists, and the music doesn’t stop until 4am.

Shari Vari is divided into different rooms to suit any kind of customer. The main bistro, the heart of the restaurant, is made up of two floors. There you can watch the baristas behind the bar make your cappuccino during the day, and nestle yourself into one of the rounded booths. At night, the top floor hosts a private DJ booth, and you have access to each of the rooms to dance, drink, and mingle.

The second room, affectionately named the Barocco room, is a more intimate space where movies are projected onto the grand white walls and customers can sit for aperitivo and a relaxed night out. This room truly earns its spot near the Pantheon — there is original 16th century artwork on the ceiling. The last room, the white room, is a social square the hosts another bar, and is where anyone can come, meet new people, and network.
