Get into the Holiday Spirit at Salerno’s Luci D’Artista

I don’t know about you, but if there’s something that gets me into the holiday spirit it’s the Christmas lights. The smell of hot cocoa in the air, Christmas carols and holiday decorations around the city awaken my inner child and fill me with joy.

If Christmas lights are also your thing, there’s a place that looks like a fairy tale land, filled with Christmas markets, Santa Clauses, enchanted gardens, Nativity scenes and more just a couple of hours from Rome. It’s the much awaited Artists’ lights, or Luci D’artista, event held in Salerno.

The Municipal Villa has become a forest. In Piazza Sant’Agostino you can enjoy the magical atmosphere of the Mediterranean and the Amalfi Coast with wonderful lemon-scented optical effects. Piazza Flavio Gioia is transformed into the marine kingdom dominated by the flaming trident of Neptune surrounded by its submarine court. And the 55-meter high ferris wheel in Sottopiazza della Concordia will allow visitors to enjoy the view of the city lit up.
