Mexican Restaurant in Rome
For the best frozen margaritas in town or for some delicious Mexican or Tex-Mex food, La Cucaracha Mexican restaurant is hands down the best place to go in the Eternal City. Run by the Beltran sisters, La Cucaracha is a small but colourful family-run restaurant near the Vatican Museums that virtually all of Rome flocks to when they get that authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food craving.
The atmosphere here is cheery with bright, vivid colours, festive piñatas hanging from the ceiling and fascinating Mexican art adorning the walls. As soon as you enter this cosy hideaway filled with the aroma of burritos, chilli con carne, enchiladas verdes, and tacos cucaracha, you know you are in for a great night. Save room for dessert, because you’ll definitely want to try their specialty: hot sugar and cinnamon covered fried churros. ¡Que rico!
If you eat here on a Tuesday, there is live Mexican music while you enjoy your meal.
