Via del Corso // Big Brands

Rome's Top Shopping Stret

Cutting straight through the historic centre, Via del Corso is the main shopping area in Rome, footsteps from the Spanish Steps. Beware though; it gets incredibly busy, especially on weekends. But once you’re in the thick of it, you’ll find the biggest brands in high street shopping; H&M, Zara and Gap all have flagship stores here. If you’re shopping at a slightly higher price-point head to the premium stores of Sisley, Miss Sixty or Diesel. Sporty types won’t be disappointed either; Nike, Adidas, Puma and Lacoste are all situated along this 1.5km street, as is a new AS Roma Store which opened in July 2016. Finally, for all your beauty needs visit Sephora, MAC, or Italy’s very own Kiko Cosmetics. Along Via del Corso you’ll also find the beautiful Galleria Alberto Sordi, and in the tucked away vias some of the best shops in Rome.

Via Condotti // Luxury Shopping

Rome's Top Shopping Stret

Beginning at Piazza di Spagna, Via dei Condotti is a catwalk of prestigious fashion houses and luxury stores. If you’re into haute couture, it’s definitely one of the best places to shop in Rome. Giorgio Armani, Miu Miu and Dolce & Gabbana all have beautiful boutiques here. Pick up an “it bag” from Salvatore Ferragamo or something precious in one of Tiffany & Co’s iconic pale blue boxes. The presence of Jimmy Choo, Church’s and Tod’s means footwear fans are well catered for. Be sure to take in the beautifully constructed (and sometimes rather wacky) window displays too. Prada and Dior’s alluring displays are usually worth a peek and Louis Vuitton has a mesmerising digital staircase that attracts selfie takers and Instagram addicts.
At the end of Via dei Condotti is Palazzo Fendi. Part boutique, part art gallery, this five story complex features original sketches and photographs from creative director Karl Lagerfeld as well as artworks and sculptures from around the world.

Via Cola di Rienzo // Premium & Boutique

Rome's Top Shopping Stret

Just a few steps from the Vatican lies Via Cola di Rienzo, a commercial street in the Prati neighbourhood. It’s home to a mix of high end and premium shops such as Max Mara, David Naman, Liu Jo and Stefanel as well as a selection of mid-range stores. Lingerie and hosiery are also surprisingly well-catered for by the likes of Intimissimi, Tezenis and Goldenpoint. Teen shoppers should head to Subdued and Brandy Melville for reasonably priced female fashion or even pick up a bargain at one of the bancarelle which can be found lining the pavements.
We can’t talk about Via Cola di Rienzo without mentioning COIN, the one-stop department store where you’ll find the best brands in fashion, beauty and homeware. There’s even a Nespresso concession and a gourmet food hall.

Via del Governo Vecchio // Independent

Rome's Top Shopping Stret

This cobbled street footsteps from Campo de’ Fiori and Piazza Navona is the place to come to find unusual items you can’t pick up elsewhere. Spend some time delving into vintage treasure troves for some premium but great value leather goods. You’ll easily spot Omero & Cecilia by the attractive display of vintage items that overflow onto the street. As well as clothing, Cinzia also offers an interesting selection of homeware from years gone by. Of the many boutiques offering upmarket fashions (Penny Lane, Civico 93 and Arsenico36 to name just a few) Kolby is our favourite. Expect quality Italian leather brogues, stylish knitwear and sharp accessories. Lastly, don’t leave without perusing the shelves at Altroquando, an engaging bookshop that straddles both sides of the street. If you’re on the hunt for leather shops in Rome, Via del Governo Vecchio is it. Plus, you’re also very close to Via dei Coronari and its beautiful antique shops, who knows, maybe you’ll find the perfect souvenir to take home!

Via del Boschetto & beyond // Artisanal & Vintage

Rome's Top Shopping Stret

Head to the cool neighbourhood of Monti and you’ll find an abundance of artisanal shops that sell handcrafted and bespoke items. There’s a number of great fashion boutiques but make Kokoro your first stop. This charming store stocks its own line of handmade and uniquely designed womenswear. If you’re looking for homeware, Boschettotre deals in fun and modern home accessories that are always in the best of taste. Estremi has a more bohemian feel with patterned fabrics, rustic furniture and tactile ceramics characterising the shelves. If vintage is your thing Pifebo, Pulp, King Size have you covered but be sure to venture out further as this neighbourhood is packed with vinyl, retro and vintage shops. For a refined shopping experience visit LOL which seamlessly blends fashion, art and design in one stylish package. If you’ve got some extra time to shop before you catch your train at Termini Station, Monti is the best place to go!

La Rinascente // Multi-Brand & Luxury Department Store

Rome's Top Shopping Stret

Footsteps away from the Trevi Fountain you’ll find this all-new multi-brand luxury department store. From home&design and the best brands of cosmetics, to latest-generation beauty care products and luxury footwear. Brands include American Outfitters, Acne, Church’s, McQueen, Prada, Chloè, Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Artemide and Hays. Don’t forget to have a break at one of the terrific food halls! The Food Hall hosts star-rated chef Riccardo Di Giacinto’s MadeITerraneo restaurant. Chef Di Giacinto is also the man at Up – Sunset Bar Lounge Bar, a magnificent roof garden with an unlimited selection of spirits representative of all the Mediterranean nations. PZA makes pizza the way they like it in Rome, served with a surprising beverage: bubbly champagnes and prosecco. San Gregorio is a well-stocked delicatessen with a kitchen where the offerings vaunt Roman identity and feature salami and cheeses from the Lazio and Campania Regions with a generous wine list. The Food Hall shows its international dimension in the Nippo-Brazilian fusion cuisine offered by Temakinho. [Silvia Vacirca]

Shopping Malls // Multi-Brand & Affordable Shopping in Rome

Rome's Top Shopping Stret

If you prefer indoor shopping, Rome’s shopping malls are probably the best place for your shopping spree! The best shopping mall in Rome is the luxury multi-brand La Rinascente on Via del Tritone. But if you’re on the haunt for some cheap shopping in Rome, the Porta di Roma shopping mall, the Euroma2 mall in EUR or the new Maximo Shopping Center will probably be your best picks. These two shopping malls have commercial brands that range from Zara to Massimo Dutti, Douglas and Primark. While for premium brands and designer outlets at great prices, don’t miss out on the Castel Romano Designer Outlet in southern Rome, with 156 brands that range from Levi’s and Alberta Ferretti to Boggi and Diesel, it’s no wonder it’s the best place for outlet shopping in Rome!
