Music, Food, Art, Mixology, Hairstylists, Tattoos – all in one
Whoever said there aren’t enough outdoor green spaces in Rome, has yet to experience the Butterfly Hotel. Open daily from 7pm to 3am, Butterfly Hotel is a 3-story building with 2 large outdoor spaces where art, music, design, and entertainment come to life. The outdoor gardens on either side of the building are set for dinner and drinks and are lit up with strings of lights throughout the trees when the sun sets, creating a magical and enchanting setting.
Experiencing the Butterfly Hotel is like arriving to a private garden. The outdoor court is dedicated to all things music, performances, and events, whereas the enchanted garden is reserved for dinners, drinks, and aperitivi.
The hotel was designed with particular details by Matteo Parenti in collaboration with artistic director Giancarlino (Goa Club). The hotel’s theme is liberating and made with a garden full of a blue, green, and magenta color palette. As if you are in a real hotel, you will see characters around the gardens, such as the French maid, housekeeper, and hotel director to add to the feel of the environment.
For food and drink, you’ll find the mixology bar with drinks served by some of the best bartenders in Rome and for dinner, pick your plate at the Tartare Restaurant & pizza gourmand for some homemade oven-baked pizzas. The Tartare restaurant has a fusion of Italian, oriental, and South American cuisine brought to you by Neapolitan chef, Valerio Lamorgese.
Mondays are known as Blu Jazz Mondays with live music organized by Valter Paiola. The other days of the week you’ll find an eccentric mix of electronic live music by GoaUltrabeat, She Made, Rebel, Touch the wood, NoZoo, Box_65, and L-Ektrica.
In addition to this, don’t miss out on the ContestaRockHair salon located on the first floor that is open daily from 12pm to midnight. This beauty salon will have you ready in no time. Afterwards, you can head to the second floor, where you will find the Tattoo Temporary Shop. In the hall, there is also the Sala Hobby, which is a great place to relax, hang out and play vintage board games in a tropical setting. The enchanted garden, Sala Hobby, and court are all united from the Tropical Room so as to allow guests to move freely throughout. The setting in the tropical room is vibrant amongst the blue walls and plants with plenty of seating to enjoy a drink or two.
The Butterfly also houses the celebrated Dorothy Circus Art Gallery, one of the 100 most important art galleries in the world, known for hosting notable pop surrealism artists.
The possibilities are endless at Butterfly Hotel with the variety of entertainment available all in one place. Check their live music schedule often as they have a different group playing most nights. With plenty of outdoor space, and their chic décor, it’s definitely a cool spot for those sweltering hot Roman nights.
