The breathtaking concert hall of Santa Cecilia at the Auditorium (3,000 capacity), is a triumph of conceptual innovation, with broken ceiling pods backlit resembling an enormous turtle’s shell of 26 broad sections. Floating speakers create a sound at once powerful and intimate, bringing musicians together in a perfect balance of range, where you could hear an exhale on stage without being overwhelmed by the trilling wind section’s top notes. The stage is flanked behind by sets of seating arranged in cliffs on different levels called ‘vineyards’.
